1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SoundShop ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

SoundShop provides royalty-free sound effects and music tracks ("Content") for download. The Service includes free preview streaming and paid VIP membership for unlimited downloads with a commercial license.

3. Accounts

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscriptions & VIP Membership

SoundShop offers VIP membership plans with the following terms:

  • Activation: VIP membership is activated via redemption codes purchased through our authorized sales channels (Taobao for Chinese users, Creem for international users).
  • Duration: Membership duration (monthly, quarterly, yearly) is determined at the time of purchase and specified on the redemption code.
  • Auto-Renewal: Some plans may include auto-renewal. The renewal terms are specified at the time of purchase on the payment platform.
  • Trials: New users may receive a trial period (7 days for Chinese users, first-month discount for international users). Trial benefits are limited as described on the pricing page.
  • Download Limits: Trial users are limited to 3 downloads. VIP members have unlimited downloads during their membership period.

5. Commercial License

All Content downloaded during an active VIP membership is covered by a royalty-free commercial license. This means you may:

  • Use the Content in videos, podcasts, games, advertisements, online courses, and other commercial projects.
  • Use the Content in perpetuity — your finished works remain licensed even after your membership expires.

You may not:

  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Content as standalone files.
  • Claim copyright ownership of the original Content.
  • Use the Content in a competing sound effects library or service.

6. Refund Policy

Digital goods are generally non-refundable. Due to the nature of digital content (which cannot be returned once accessed), the following refund policy applies:

  • Unused Codes: Redemption codes that have not been activated may be eligible for a refund within 7 days of purchase, subject to the refund policy of the platform where the purchase was made (Taobao or Creem).
  • Activated Codes: Once a redemption code has been used to activate VIP membership, it is non-refundable. Digital content is replicable and cannot be "returned."
  • Defective Content: If a downloaded file is corrupted or inaccessible, contact support for a replacement.
  • Chargebacks: Unauthorized chargebacks (disputing a legitimate purchase) may result in account suspension. Please contact us first to resolve any billing issues.

7. Intellectual Property

All Content on SoundShop is either owned by us or licensed from third-party providers. The SoundShop platform, brand, and website are our exclusive property. The commercial license grants you usage rights; it does not transfer ownership of any Content.

8. Limitation of Liability

SoundShop is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

  • Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Service.
  • Content availability — we strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access.
  • Third-party claims arising from your use of the Content in a manner that violates these terms.

9. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these terms. Upon termination, your right to download new Content ceases, but your existing commercial license for previously downloaded Content remains valid.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable to your jurisdiction. For users in China, relevant PRC laws apply. For international users, general principles of international commercial law apply.
